Moving to London

The big move to London. Kellen was staffed on a case in London in July and after our long holiday we decided that we would rent a flat in London so Maddie and I could be there with Kellen. We planed this very last minute and it was very heroic trying to find a place to rent and getting all of our stuff ready to go. On September 7, 2014 we left our house each with one suitcase and took the Eurostar train through the Chunnel to London. As we came out of St. Pancras train station I was excited and anxious to see what our life in London would be like.

Activites of week #1: September 7th-14th 2014

Kensington Palace on the day Kate and William announced they are having a second child. Then to Princess Diana's Memorial Playground in Hyde Park. An amazing playground with a huge ship and numerous play areas.
Corrum Gardens which is another great park and  free indoor play area where adults are not allowed with out a child. I love this! We may be regulars at Corrum Gardens.

Camden Lock Market is an outdoor market with the same feel as Hate Ashbury in San Fansico. It's right along a river and there are lots of intersting stalls and great food!
Gymboree class in Canary Wharf with Maddie's friends Elle and Hudson. The kids loved being able to climb and play on everthing.
Portebella Road market with to die for antique shoppes, an afternoon at the park, followed by a night out with the Wilson's at Honest Burger. Honestly, it was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time!
We spent Sarurday at the London Zoo. We were really excited to take Maddie to the zoo and as we found it it was £25 a person to go we thought that it must be an incredible zoo. Well it was fun watching Maddie get excited as she saw all the animals but it was pretty much a regular zoo. Maybe not work $75 for a family day at the zoo.
For this first week we were living at 107 Kings Cross Road in a temporary flat that we arranged very last minute. It is not only the smallest place I have ever lived but could seriously use some TLC. For example, on the wood floor there are some nails that are sticking up and snag Maddie's clothes as she crawls, the blinds are sagging and broken, it is about 300 total square feet, the water heater drips onto the tiny bathroom floor, when you turn on one kitchen burner the other three also heat up to a million degrees, it is in a lovely neighborhood with a bar on one side, a Thai massage place on the other and right outside the window trains run by all night long. It was definantly an experience and Maddie and I did everything we could to spend most of the day out of the house! Let's just say our jetset life is not always luxurious! But life is always good when we are all together. Here are a few pics of 107 Kings Cross Road.
Maddie also turned 10 months old this week on 9/10/14. She crawls everywhere, climbs up on everything, dramatically throws her head back when she cries, eats a lot of finger foods and just discovered how fun the ipad is to play with. She now likes reading books and will help turn the pages, loves new toys and new places to play!! She is such a sweet and fun little baby doll.
