Meat and cheeses
Fruits and veggies
Or why not a pig head...to chose from. We spent the morning wandering around the large market and stocking up on fresh fruits and veggies. There are also a lot of food trucks to chose from for lunch so Kellen had African food and I got a wrap which had sausage, olives, sun dried tomatoes, and some yummy cream sauce. We enjoyed being in our own neighborhood, the food, people watching and the 8 degree celcius weather!
At about 5pm we started talking about what we should do for the evening. We decided to head downtown because we had heard that the museums would be open late tonight. We jumped on the metro and when we came out into downtown were suprised to see hundreds of people out and about. Little did we know it was ...
Museum Night Fever in Brussels. It's a huge city event that you buy one 14 euro ticket and you can go into 25 different museums. Most the museums were open from 7pm-1am. So we decided to go for it and see as many as we could. We made it through 6 different museums.
1. Bib-experience Brussels
2. Musee Belvue- history of Belgium
3. Coudenbergh- unground castle ruins
4. MIM- museum of musical insterments
5. Musee de la ville de Bruxelles- has all of the costumes of the Manicain Pis
6. Auto world- car museum.
In each museum they had college students in costumes, answering questions, playing instruments, and handing out food samples. Even though it was late at night the whole city of Brussels was so alive which created such an amusing environment. Maddie (and Kellen) were such champs as Kellen carried Maddie around all night. We got a lot of "why do you have a baby out so late" kind of looks. But she was happy as ever the next day even though she was out until past midnight!
